ゲノセクト, the “Paleozoic” Pokemon, is 4’11” and weighs 181.9 lbs. “Genesect” is a combination of genetic + insect. It is based on giant bugs that existed 300 million years ago, making it as old as a cockroach. In an effort to create the most powerful Pokemon, Team Plasma installed bizarre modifications on it. Genesect is the only creature capable of using Techno Blast, which is visibly different depending on what Drive it holds. Without a drive, the light is orange, and the attack is Normal-type. With the Douse Drive, the light is blue, and the attack becomes a Water-type. With Burn, the light is red, and Techno Blast is a Fire-type. With Shock, the light is yellow, and it turns to an Electric-type. Finally, using the Chill Drive, Genesect fires a white beam that’s Ice-type.

Gyarados is among the most successful fish, taking the role of apex predator in almost any environment. Gyarados is sometimes mistaken for being possessing the ability to fly, but it’s been confirmed that it’s only capable of breaching very high out of the water to catch airborne prey. Gyarados originates from the most common sea creature, Magikarp, which seeks open waters to develop to adult size, then may return to fresh water to breed or to just be jerks to small critters. Magikarp is the most useless specimen known to science and is only able to flop around. Huntail and Gorebyss exhibit the behavior of killing Shellders to use their shells as safe havens to lay eggs; these hollowed Shellders are referred to as Clamperls because the eggs resemble jewels. Cloyster has one of the hardest shells. Within it, there’s a massive black pearl with small knob-like protrusions. If light hits the pearl just right, glints of light on the knobs can appear as a smirking face. These “face-pearls” are absurdly valuable and sought after by collectors from every region. It’s difficult to obtain a Cloyster pearl, let alone a face-pearl, as the Pokemon lives deep underwater, and one would have to slay it, a herculean feat in itself. Tentacool is omnipresent. Once a trainer gains a surf-license and a suitable “driver,” he will quickly develop a huge disdain of this overly-abundant Pokemon. Seriously, it’s everywhere.
